Adventures With Lensbaby Omni
The basic kit comes with a filter ring and magnetic mounts, three wands, Crystal Seahorse, Stretch Glass and Rainbow Film. The expansion kit comes with more wands and some really cool filters.
Of course I couldn’t wait to play with them. I headed over to Prairie Park Nature Center to find some flowers. Armed with my Nikon D800, Lensbaby Velvet 56 and the Omni I was ready to shoot. Unfortunately, the wind had other plans. Aw, the beauty of living in Kansas. Not to be deterred I picked a few stems, I know I’m a naughty girl, and went home to take some photos on my front porch where it was less windy.
As with all Lensbaby experiments it takes a fair amount of time and bad photos to get something that works. For most of these photos I used the Crystal Seahorse and a pink filter. The possibilities are endless so expect to see a lot more photos as I try to find my way with this kit.
I took about 50 photos and these nine are my favorite. I plan to buy some flowers and try again tomorrow. These little wands might be really cool for boudoir photos as well.
